Toddler rushed to hospital after falling from moving car

A two-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after he fell out of a moving car in Melbourne's south-east.

Police believe the toddler was in a slow moving car that was reversing out of a driveway on Hunt Club Boulevard in Cranbourne East about 10.20am today.

The child suffered serious injuries to his head.

New visiting restrictions have been applied to the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, other hospitals and aged-care facilities across the state.

He was airlifted to the Royal Children's Hospital after the incident.

The driver of the car assisted police at the scene.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known.
