Man dies after his Commodore collides with truck in South Australia

An 18-year-old South Australian man has died after his Holden Commodore collided with a small truck.

Police are investigating the fatal crash, which happened before 6am today on the Sturt Highway at Kingston-on-Murray in the state's Riverland region.

The truck driver from Riverland was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The young man's death is the 65th life lost on South Australian road so far this year.

The road toll at the same time last year was 57.

Emergency services crews and major crash officers closed the highway to assist and investigate the scene.
